The Stalin Statue is reporting that a statue of Stalin may appear on Moscow's Poklonnaya Gora (the site of the "Great Patriotic War" museum) in time for the May 9 celebrations. While there are different versions of the story, it seems clear that someone in authority intends to create a monument that will commemorate the signatories of the 1945 Yalta Agreement - including the Great Leader. The source of the story is Oleg Tolkachev, Moscow senator of the Federation Council. According to, statues of Stalin are also planned for Belgorod, and for Yalta itself.

Moscow authorities are now busily denying the truth of the story.
