A militaristic Russia is now evidently intent on crushing and destroying the democratic state of Georgia. It remains to be seen if the nations of Europe can summon up the courage to present a unified protest, and to take action to prevent what may well become a series of such brutal actions on Russia's part, affecting the whole of the continent.
Meanwhile, Russian forces are advancing into Georgia.
