Russia's invasion of Georgia was pre-planned

As President Saakashvili pointed out at his news conference today, the Russian invasion of his country was planned long in advance.

News reports dating back to June tend to confirm his claim: see, for example, this post, with a link to a UPI report dated May 31 2008, which indicates that Russian officials were planning an invasion of Georgia's Abkhazia region even then -- and Russia's sending of "railroad troops" into the region had already underlined this.
